Founder of the Congregation of the Mission, the Daughters of Charity, and patron of the Works of Charity. His passion to serve and evangelize the poor still inspires us today.
General Assembly
In 2028, we will celebrate the 44th General Assembly of the Congregation of the Mission in Salamanca, under the theme: “The Little Company in this changing era: what should we be and what should we do?”.

Dear friends,
Today I would like to invite you to walk in the footsteps of one of the most extraordinary—and yet one of the most humble—Sisters of our Company: Saint Catherine Labouré. We often know her simply as the messenger of the Miraculous Medal. Yet, as I immersed myself in her story, I wanted to share with you another aspect of who she was. To look closely at her life is to discover how God opens a path to holiness in the most ordinary circumstances of our daily lives. God simply asks us to live in the practice of holy love, and our Sister Catherine is a perfect illustration of this.

Today I would like to invite you to contemplate a life that can only be fully understood in the light of the Gospel. Throughout the history of our spirituality, there are radiant figures in whom faith ceases to be an abstract idea and becomes a concrete way of living and self-giving. One of these is Saint Francis Regis Clet, a priest of the Congregation of the Mission, a tireless evangelizer in China, and a martyr of charity.
