Dear Missionaries of the Congregation of the Mission,
This special issue of our magazine “Nuntia” is an occasion of deep joy and reflection for all of us.
We celebrate a historic moment: the beatification of Ján Havlík, seminarian and martyr of the faith, which took place on August 31, 2024, in Šaštin, Slovakia. Ján, a young Vincentian, was a shining example of fidelity to the mission, facing persecution and suffering with the strength of one who lives for Christ. In him, we find the embodiment of a missionary disciple, faithful to the point of ultimate sacrifice, who invites us to renew our commitment to following the Gospel.
This edition is dedicated to his testimony, a ray of light that illuminates our mission and encourages us to persevere with boldness and love. May Blessed Ján Havlík intercede for us and inspire us daily in our missionary journey.
There is one word that runs through the pages of this issue of NUNTIA like a golden thread: hope. Not a naive or abstract hope, but one born in the flesh of history, in the challenges of the mission, in the joy of serving ‘to the end’.
The Acts of the diocesan phase for the beatification of Janez Strašek, CM, Vincentian missionary and martyr of charity, were delivered in Rome. Work now begins on the “Positio”, a decisive step towards the recognition of his holiness. Join the Vincentian Family in prayer for the success of the cause.
The diocesan process for the beatification of the Servant of God Janez Strašek, C.M. was concluded in Zagreb.
The final session saw the moving participation of the Vincentian Family, gathered to pay homage to this witness of charity and fidelity to the Gospel. Let us now join in prayer asking that, through the intercession of Janez Strašek, we may grow in holiness and service to the poor.
