To all members of the Vincentian Family
Dearest brothers and sisters,
May the grace and peace of Jesus be with us always!
With hearts full of gratitude and hope, we welcome the election of the new Successor of Peter, Pope Leo XIV. At this important moment for the Church, we unite in prayer for the Holy Father, who is called to lead the People of God with fidelity, courage, and love.
In his first words addressed to the Church and the world, Pope Leo XIV reminded us powerfully that “we must seek together how to be a missionary Church,” and invited everyone to work “as men and women faithful to Jesus Christ, without fear, to proclaim the Gospel, to be missionaries.” This call deeply resonates with the Vincentian heart, always oriented towards the poorest and filled with the desire to build bridges of charity and dialogue.
As the Vincentian Family, we feel strengthened and renewed in our commitment to walk with the poor, to proclaim the Gospel through our lives, and to be a presence that consoles, accompanies, and serves.
I invite you to pray fervently for Pope Leo XIV, that the Holy Spirit may enlighten and sustain him in his mission as the Successor of Saint Peter. May he, guided by the light of the Risen Christ, lead the Church with humility, wisdom, and compassion.
With a fraternal embrace in Christ,
Fr. Tomaž Mavrič, C.M.
