Announcement of the appointment as Bishop of the Diocese of Alotau-Sideia of Fr. Jacek Piotr Tendej CM

With gratitude to the Lord, we announce that the Holy Father has entrusted a new mission to our confrere, Rev. Jacek Piotr Tendej, C.M., appointing him Bishop of the Diocese of Alotau-Sideia, in Papua New Guinea.

With a heart grateful to Christ the Good Shepherd, I announce to you that His Holiness Pope Leo XIV, today, 7 July 2025, has appointed Father Jacek Piotr Tendej, a member of the Congregation of the Mission, from the Province of Poland, as Bishop of the Diocese of Alotau-Sideia in Papua New Guinea, succeeding our confrere Bishop Rolando Santos.

Father Jacek has generously dedicated his life to the service of the Gospel and the poor in the Vincentian mission, bearing witness to Christ’s charity with simplicity and dedication.

His episcopal appointment is a sign of the universal Church’s trust in the missionary spirit and evangelical witness of our Congregation.

Let us accompany Father Jacek with our prayers and fraternal closeness, entrusting his episcopal ministry to the intercession of the Blessed Virgin of the Miraculous Medal, Saint Vincent de Paul, and all the Saints, Blesseds, and Servants of God of the Little Company.
