Christmas Message 2025 from the Superior General Fr. Tomaž Mavrič, CM

Celebrating 400 years of the Congregation of the Mission, the Christmas message invites us to service and the evangelization of the poor

The Superior General of the Congregation of the Mission, Fr. Tomaž Mavrič, CM, sends a Christmas message to the entire Vincentian family around the world, reminding us of the true meaning of the season.

“Christmas reminds us that God becomes poor and small out of love, so that no one may remain far from His tenderness”, says the Superior General, inviting us to live with hope and closeness to those most in need.

In 2025, as we celebrate the 400th anniversary of the Congregation of the Mission, we also highlight the reflection of Pope Leo XIV in his Apostolic Exhortation Dilexi te: “He presents Himself to the world not only as the poor Messiah but also as the Messiah of the poor and for the poor.”

The message concludes with an invitation to renew the joy of service and the burning desire to evangelize the poor, the pillars of the Vincentian mission.

P. Tomaž Mavrič, CM
