New Book Release: A Vincentian Reflection on Mary

The Congregation of the Mission is pleased to announce the publication of a new book now available on Amazon: St. Vincent de Paul and Devotion to Mary: The Founder’s Gift to the Vincentian Family – Yesterday and Today, by Robert P. Maloney.

St. Vincent de Paul and Devotion to Mary: The Founder’s Gift to the Vincentian Family – Yesterday and Today, by Robert P. Maloney, offers a profound and accessible exploration of how Vincent de Paul understood and lived Marian devotion, and how that vision continues to inspire the Vincentian Family today.

Drawing from Scripture, history, theology, and Vincentian spirituality, the book traces the development of Marian devotion from the early Church to the seventeenth-century French context, and reflects on its meaning in our contemporary, multicultural world. Special attention is given to Mary as a model of discipleship, service, humility, and missionary charity.

More than a historical study, this publication is an invitation:

  • to rediscover Mary at the heart of the Vincentian charism,
  • to renew a vibrant Marian spirituality rooted in the Gospel,
  • and to deepen our commitment to Christ in the service of the Poor.
