We enter the holy season of Lent in the wake of the Jubilee of Hope and as we approach the conclusion of the Fourth Centenary of the founding of the Congregation of the Mission (17 April 2026): a passage of grace that invites us to cherish memory as a source of the future, discerning how to be credible signs of evangelical hope today, especially among the poor.
In his letter, the Superior General highlights two decisive paths for our Lenten journey: to continue today and forever the mission of Jesus and to do so with profound humility, allowing the Lord’s trust to become a ‘school’ of personal and community conversion.
We therefore invite all members of the Vincentian Family to download the letter, read it carefully, discuss it in community and in groups, and share it: the text also offers a concrete outline with questions for personal reflection and community sharing, to translate Lent into evangelical choices and a more shared and prophetic charity.
